2006 D.A.R.E. Dance

The 2006 DARE Dance was held at the Haddon Township High School cafeteria on November 17th 2006. This has become an annual event sponsored by the Haddon Township Police Department and the Haddon Township Municipal Alliance. The following Haddon Township Police Department personnel were in attendance; Chief Joseph Gallagher, DSgt. Michael Moore, Sgt. Ron Aron (Community Policing and D.A.R.E. Officer), Det. Kirk Earney (D.A.R.E. Officer), P.O. Joseph Talucci (School Resource Officer and D.A.R.E. Officer), and P.O. Wendy Schwartz (Traffic Officer and D.A.R.E. Officer). Once again the event was a total success with most of the 6th grade class and their parents in attendance. While the kids were at the dance their parents were informed of several important issues affecting their children. Some of the issues included current drug trends within Haddon Township, bullying, computer safety, and the role of the School Resource Officer. Two lucky 6th graders, a boy and a girl, actually won a bicycle. Numerous other door prizes were also awarded to attendees. A display of confiscated drug paraphernalia and simulated weapons were shown to the parents. Drug literature was also provided to everyone. This program will also be presented in 2007.
