CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT APPLICATION

Residents of Haddon Township can apply online for Firearms Purchaser Identification Cards and Permits to Purchase a Handgun through the State of New Jersey Firearms Reporting System (FARS) Website.


The applications include initial firearms purchaser identification cards, duplicate firearms purchaser IDs (lost, stolen, damaged, or legal changes in personal information), permits to purchase a handgun and registeration of a handguns(s) transferred with change of residency to New Jersey.

 

You will need the unique Haddon Township Police Department codes below:
Haddon Township Police Department ORI number NJ0041600.

 

Applicants MUST enter their “Official Name” / “Legal Name" exactly as it appears on your government documents (i.e. driver’s license). If your information does not match, you will need to re-apply. If you have a suffix in your legal name, ensure this is included in your application.


New Jersey firearms purchaser IDs and permits can only be submitted electronically through NJ FARS system. There is no longer an option to receive a printed firearm purchaser IDs or handgun purchaser permits. Previously issued yellow Firearms Purchaser Identification Cards are still valid and do not have to be
replaced.


When an applicant is approved, the FARS System creates a pistol permit that is maintained in the FARS System. A link to execute the permit will be provided to the applicant as well as Licensed Firearms Dealers in the State of New Jersey. Permits can be executed by Licensed Gun Dealers or private transfers where a NICS check is exempt.

 

  • E-permits will be valid for 180 days unless there is good cause to not extend the permit past the 90-day mark.

  •  E-permits may be deactivated / reactivated at any time (ERPO / TRO / Court Order / NICS Denial etc.)

 

If the applicant makes a mistake while applying, they simply can reapply. The applicant should understand that all application fees are non-refundable and nontransferable. The applicant MUST utilize the correct ORI (Haddon Township Police Department ORI Number NJ0041600)

References
Applicants will need to submit the contact information for two reputable references who reside in New Jersey. Make sure you have accurate contact information for your references. They will be emailed a 10-question survey from the NJ State Police that they will need to respond to in a timely manner.

Fingerprinting
FARS Applicants -First time applicants and applicants applying due to a change of sex will be required to be fingerprinted within 30 days of submitting an application. Make a fingerprinting appointment here after you submit your application. IdentoGo is now advising firearms applicants to contact their police agency to obtain their “service code” for when there are issues with their firearms fingerprints. If a resident needs a “service code” for IdentoGo fingerprint issues related to firearms, the code will be 2F164B.  

 

All other applicants, that have been fingerprinted in the past for FIREARMS under Statue 2C:58-1, are required to complete the online 212A Criminal History Records Check. Upon completion of the online application process, the S.T.S. 033 and 212A requirements will have been met.


Consent for Mental Health Records Search
If you have resided outside of New Jersey in the past 10 years, you will need to complete a Consent for Mental Health Records Search (SP-66) form found here. Concealed Carry Permit Application


All applications are now initiated through the New Jersey State Police website at Concealed Carry Permits (njportal.com)

Requirements

  • Haddon Township Police Department ORI # NJ0041600

  • SBI Number, Social Security Number and Driver's License Number

  • Upload a recent photograph Passport Style Photograph on a light background including head and shoulders. (Please DO NOT upload a photo of your license and/or passport)

  • One (1) training record completed within the past two (2) years, instructor name, and qualification date

  • Four (4) reputable references not related by blood and/or law.

  • Information on handguns to be carried

Please ensure all your information is accurate, if any information is INCORRECT your application will be WITHDRAWN and you will have to re-apply. Once your background investigation is completed and your application is approved or denied, we will contact you.

Payments:

 

  • $50.00 for initial Firearms Purchaser ID Card (no fee for duplicate cards or change of address)

  • $25.00 for each Handgun Purchase Permit

  • $150 for Permit to Carry a Handgun

 

​Your application WILL NOT be processed until you have paid for the initial Firearms Identification card (FID)/Permit to Purchase a Handgun(s) and/or CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT fees. Non-refundable payment is required to be made prior to the start of the background investigation as per NJAC 13:54-1.4. These fees as well as any fees for fingerprinting/SBI212A checks are set by the State of New Jersey.

 

You can drop the fee payment in the gray drop box at the front of the municipal building anytime in an envelope with your name and “Police Dept” on the front of the envelope, or you can come to the police department anytime between 9am and 3pm, Monday thru Friday to pay this fee.
Please be advised only Exact Change CASH or CHECK is accepted. We ask that you please call us prior to coming to the Police Department at 856-833-6200, to be sure someone will be here to help you when
you arrive.

 

The falsification of information on any of the applications for firearms permits is a violation of NJS 2C:39-10c and is a crime of the third degree. Any falsification may result in criminal charges against you.
