APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

The Haddon Township Police Department is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. The following criteria must be fulfilled in order to apply for a police officer position within the department.

 

  • Be a citizen of the United States.

  • Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.

  • Have earned a high school diploma or a high school equivalency completion certificate.

  • Be able to read, write and speak the English language.

  • Have not been convicted of any crime or crimes constituting an indictable offense, or any crime or offense involving moral turpitude.

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 when filing an application for an entrance examination.

  • Possess a satisfactory certificate of completion for police academy training from the New Jersey Police Training Commission (Basic Course for Police Officer) or SLEO II within a waiver period, or be currently enrolled in a New Jersey Police Academy.

  • Meet the physical and psychological requirements as determined by an appointed authority.

  • Pass an extensive background investigation and oral board interview.

  • Meet all other requirements contained in N.J.S.A. 40A:14-127.
